When Nels and I asked Harrison what he wanted to do for his 7th birthday, he said he wanted a Navy party - not navy blue - but Navy as in a branch of the military... hmmm... how was that going to work? Eventually we settled on hosting his birthday party at the Youth Activity Center. The recreation facility where I work. I rented the space for 2 hours and got special permission from my boss to use the ropes and climbing nets and other equipment and we made a Navy Seals training course. The kids had so much fun and so did Nels and I! I must say - we were all quite worn out when the party was over!
We even made red, white and blue cupcakes!
